District Heating: Keeping regions sustainably warm
Information
This session will look into different transitional pathways for decarbonising thermal systems and how best to organise them locally without interrupting the supply or affecting affordability. The selected examples will provide political and technical reasons for these pathways, including the benefits of putting circular economic principles into practice, the creation of (re-)skilled labour or lower operating costs. An introduction by the Secretariat of the Initiative for Coal Regions in Transition will set the themes for discussion and will be followed by selected case-studies presentations.
