Information

Power consumption and computational density are major challenges facing today’s CMOS processor technology. There is another option, avoiding these challenges: photonic computing operates by modulating light with virtually no power consumption.
The presentation is a lightning speed journey from thin-film lithium niobate chips to photonic accelerators, to a software stack for photonics enabling advanced operations for AI and HPC. We will present how photonic computing opens the door to the next level of energy efficiency and computing algorithms.
HPC Solutions Forum Questions
What is most important: maximizing performance in a given power envelope, minimizing power costs, or being green? Do you have to choose?Discuss your solution in terms of benefits for specific use cases, rather than general horizontal terms like HPC, AI, performance, or scalability. We hear about CPUs and GPUs. Is there another choice that’s better?
