The Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is a ministerial department bringing together responsibilities for business, industrial strategy, science, innovation, energy, growth and climate change.  

Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP) 

The BEIS Net Zero Innovation Portfolio is a £1 billion fund providing funding for low-carbon technologies and systems. Decreasing the costs of decarbonisation, the Portfolio will help enable the UK to end its contribution to climate change. BEIS innovation funding focuses on priority areas which includes the uptake of hydrogen technologies across the whole hydrogen value and supply chain. Supported through this is the Hy4Heat Programme which aims to establish if it is technically possible, safe and convenient to replace natural gas with hydrogen in residential and commercial buildings and gas appliances.  

Hy4Heat has developed domestic and commercial hydrogen appliances, smart meters and ancillary components as well as a range of technical standards and training frameworks. We will be displaying these outputs at the Hy4Heat exhibition in the Sustainable Innovation Zone.
