Navigating Financial Assistance and Healthcare Barriers: A Live Focus Group Session
Information
AAPC, Nursing, Pharmacy, BCPA | 1 CEU General
Polling from the PAN Foundation's Center for Patient Research finds one in three (31 percent) adults with a chronic condition have medical debt. And among those individuals, half (50 percent) have at least $1,000 in debt, with an average of $3,480. Unfortunately, many patients and healthcare professionals don't know where to get help when out-of-pocket medication costs are unaffordable. Join our session to participate in a live focus group to share your first-hand experiences navigating the financial assistance landscape and barriers to healthcare access. Also hear directly from other patients and healthcare professionals who have navigated the process and learn about the tools and resources available to help make the process easier.
In this session, you will:
- Share your own experiences and challenges with helping patients navigate the financial assistance landscape to co-create solutions with fellow advocates.
- Identify the most pressing resources that advocates like yourself need to best help your patients navigate healthcare barriers.
- Utilize tools and resources to help navigate financial assistance options.
