Information

We are witnessing the creation of major dentistry chains across much of EMEA and in countries like India. But what are the risks?

Topics include: regulatory change, payor mix, demand, new treatments, internationalisation.

Panellists to include:

Ben Faircloth, Partner, L.E.K. Consulting (Overview presentation)

Louis Shakinovsky, Chairman, shareholder, co-founder Global Dental Services (Clove).

Since its standing start in late 2011, Clove has become India's biggest dental chain, with 340 clinics as of August 2019. Working towards redefining the Oral Health Care delivery system in India, it aims to grow to 2,000 clinics, which will make it by far the world's largest dental chain. Whilst allocating resources for oral healthcare in under-served communities, its quality-first, ethical dental care is targeted at the burgeoning middle class, who pay out-of-pocket, since dental insurance does not yet exist in India.

Sebastián Reyes Gloffka, CEO, RedSalud.

Chile's largest private healthcare provider, RedSalud, includes a large dental chain among its services that spans the length of the country. RedSalud has been working to consolidate the business in the country's very fragmented sector, and Sebastián sees a big opportunity for RedSalud's quality provision.

Sam Waley-Cohen, CEO & Founder, Portman Dental Care

Established in 2009 by Sam Waley-Cohen, Core Equity backed Portman Dental Care is a rapidly growing UK-based dental group with over +140 practices. The third largest group in the UK’s focus on clinical quality and customer service has seen it be recognised as the Dental Industry’s Outstanding Business of the Year in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Many advisors tell HBI that before too long they expect Portman to get its teeth firmly stuck into a European market which is still looking for a truly consolidating player.
