Building ecosystems to support the livelihoods of vulnerable populations
Information
The growing number of refugee and internally displaced populations (IDPs), particularly those crises of a protracted nature, is intensifying the need to equip these cohorts with opportunities and skillsets for self-reliance beyond those afforded through traditional humanitarian aid. Key to this effort is building ecosystems of financial institutions, regulators, platforms and NGOs with the expertise and capacity required to support these vulnerable communities. This panel will discuss some of the unique challenges associated with working with vulnerable populations, lessons learned from past experiences and priorities for future income-generation programs that target this segment.
