Financial Training Wheels: How Commitment Savings Plans Can Effectively and Safely Onboard Unbanked Women to the Digital Economy

This session will explore the advantages of using soft commitment savings plans as a tool to onboard unbanked women in East Africa to mobile money. It will feature interviews with WomenSave staff who work directly with clients to understand exactly how they use the products, services and technology to articulate financial goals and take steps to meet them. It also will include discussion of the limitations of this model.
