Christ at Work is a website designed to introduce you to businesses that are bringing elements of faith into the workplace and have seen a change in their culture as a result.

As Christians, it is our responsibility to show care and compassion to everyone around us and the workplace might be our best opportunity. It’s not enough to know about compassion…we must live it out for the difference to be made, and the workplace is where it’s most needed.

Living as a person of faith in a faithless world requires courage. As we worship God, work with integrity, love our neighbors and cherish our families, we become billboards of God’s message. Jesus didn’t change the world through crowds of people; he did it one person at a time…and so must we. If you have compassion only for the crowds, you will never reach the individual craving the fulfillment only authentic care and compassion can bring.

Businesses that have brought care and compassion into the workplace have seen increased productivity, higher quality, lower turnover, better recruiting, and higher safety reports. When people feel like they are valued as people and not just what they can do for the company’s bottom line, things change.

People are craving a sense of belonging, a sense of purpose, and a work environment where they feel cared for and valued for who they are. When you move from what you have to what you give, that’s where life-change happens! Sometimes the people who are most unlike you most need you to engage with them in an authentic and caring way.

It’s all about intentionally caring for those around us in our workplaces, in our communities, and around the world. It’s up to us to make the decision and up to God to make the difference… We call it, Christ at Work.
