People in Need

Information

The exhibition Peace. Now! How? by photographer Albert Lores highlights the unimaginable hardship faced by Ukrainians, with families losing loved ones, fleeing their homes, and enduring daily violence. Many continue despite grief, often saying, "I’ll cry. I’ll finally allow myself to grieve properly."

For over a decade, People in Need has collaborated with more than 70 Ukrainian organizations, focusing on community development and recovery. Lasting peace, however, can only be achieved by supporting those who have suffered most—volunteers, doctors, engineers, and others who risk their lives for Ukraine.

The path to peace is more than political negotiations or ceasefires; it requires a humanitarian approach. Sustainable peace depends on a layered strategy that addresses immediate needs while ensuring long-term recovery. This includes providing resources to strengthen local projects, businesses, and essential services.

International allies must understand the true cost of war for Ukrainians and act decisively. Peace cannot be achieved without addressing both immediate recovery and the long-term healing of those who have endured. True allies must approach this process with the same care and focus as emergency workers, ensuring that no one is left behind.
