In 1996, Fred Jung (ju) and Matthias Willenbacher (wi) founded the juwi group installing their first wind energy plants in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. Afterwards, the company, which is now headquartered in Wörrstadt near Mains, grew steadily with wind and solar energy projects in Germany, in Europe and abroad. Today, the juwi group focuses on the planning, construction and operation of wind farms in Germany and on utility-scale solar energy projects in the United States, the Middle East, South Africa as well as South-East Asia and Australia. Since the end of 2014, Mannheim-based energy supplier MVV Energie AG has been a partner and majority shareholder of the juwi group, which has approximately 1,000 employees worldwide. juwi is one of the pioneers of the still young renewable energy industry. Our background and our experience are the basis of our identity which drives us towards a 100% renewable energy supply.
