ACCIONA Energía is the world’s largest 100% renewable energy producer without a fossil fuel legacy. The company develops, builds, owns and operates renewable energy assets. In Australia since 2002, it has 5 operating wind farms with a total capacity of over 600MW. In Queensland, it is currently constructing the largest wind farm in the southern hemisphere, the 1026MW MacIntyre Wind Farm Precinct.
The company is also a technology innovation leader with a proven record in concentrated solar thermal with storage, green hydrogen, and pumped hydro – technologies that could provide long duration energy storage in micro-grids, enabling high penetration of renewables.
ACCIONA Energía has strong financial capacity – able to deliver gigawatt scale projects without project financing, and security of supply chain – with its 40% ownership in turbine manufacturer Nordex. This means it is well positioned to offer miners supply of on-site renewable energy with a low risk of delivery.
