The Murphy Institute's Center for Ethics, Tulane University
Information
The Murphy Institute exists to help faculty and students at Tulane University, scholarly communities at home and abroad, and engaged citizens understand economic, moral, and political problems we all face and think about. More important, it exists to help us understand how these problems have come to be so closely interconnected.
Through innovative programming among its three centers (The Center for Ethics, the Center for Public Policy Research, and the Center on Law and the Economy), The Murphy Institiute coordinates and supports cross-disciplinary research and discussions related to ethics, public affairs, public policy research, and the legal regulation of economic activity.
To contribute to the advanced research infrastructure that attracts and rewards outstanding faculty and graduate students, the Center for Ethics (CE) funds a Visiting Faculty Fellowship program. Each year, The Murphy Institute hosts three CE Faculty Fellows on research leave from their home institutions. They spend a year in residence at Tulane, conducting their own research while participating in the Center for Ethics' seminars, lectures, and conferences. The Murphy Institute also offers a Master of Arts (MA) program in Political Economy with Data Analytics, which offers a rigorous and multidisciplinary education centered around themes in political economy. It equips students with the quantitative skills necessary to apply their knowledge in academic research, government, and industry.
