The two days of DMEXCO will be dominated by the question of how artificial intelligence can be scaled—and for good reason: AI makes brand communication more efficient and faster, and opens up possibilities that didn’t exist before.

But this same scalability has a downside. When content can be generated at will and, in the AI-driven flood, no one can reliably distinguish what’s real anymore, value shifts. That’s precisely when the real world becomes the anchor: reliable, shared, and physically tangible. Where everything scales, genuine attention becomes a scarce resource.

Public space is the last media context that is both real and visible to everyone at the same time. Thanks to the ongoing technological evolution of this medium, public space combines the best of both worlds: the potential for customization found in the digital realm and the credibility of the real world. Attention that arises in the real world cannot be simulated, and that is precisely why tangible reality becomes a competitive advantage, while everything else scales into nothingness.
