Morgan Sindall Group’s Blenheim Inset Scheme will ultimately deliver 22,000 tonnes of CO2 sequestration, provide 138 hectares of improved biodiversity, a public amenity for local inhabitants and a purpose-built teaching and learning centre for pupils of visiting schools. This ambitious project, delivered in collaboration with Grown in Britain, Nicholsons Lockhart Garratt and Blenheim Estates, is the first of its kind in the UK. It includes the planting of 270,000 of which 60% are native, broad leaf trees across 138 hectares in nine woodlands. As well as the contribution to the UK’s overall carbon reduction targets, the scheme will provide locally-grown timber for future construction projects.
