ABOUT THE EVENT
The International Climate Finance Accelerator Luxembourg (ICFA) is organizing the Climate Finance Forum 2023 to delve into the challenges how to tackle pressing climate issues through finance, and to collectively work on solutions to overcome these barriers through inspirational keynote speeches and thematic round table discussions.
The world continues to experience extreme climate impacts, creating social challenges or significantly deepening those already present. Current investment strategies are not sufficient to solve all of the emerging challenges effectively.
Given the constraints on public budgets and the shortcomings of traditional financial systems, the public and private sectors need galvanize their efforts further to scale up climate financing. While there has been a shift in the allocation of capital, there needs to be a paradigm shift to ensure that climate action is integral to every investment decision.
The Climate Finance Forum will bring together impact fund managers, development financial institutions, foundations, fund investors, policy makers, and other climate actors to discuss crucial climate and impact related topics.
This year, the Climate Finance Forum will focus on:
- The importance of DFIs to de-risk and catalyse private investments
- Climate change: how to move from “reacting” to “preparing”
- How foundations and philanthropy can unlock action on climate
- Producing reliable climate data at scale
- Mobilizing finance for nature-based solutions and biodiversity
- Best practices on acting locally
The ICFA hopes that the Climate Finance Forum will create opportunities for pioneers and leaders in the climate finance space to connect, to share insights on key trends, and to forge long-term partnerships between each other.
