Panel: Driving competition in the Middle Eastern subsea space
Information
Egypt is widely regarded as the gatekeeper for subsea connectivity for the Middle East. However, the issue of perhaps a general perception from the industry’s players of wanting to encourage more geographic diversity and identify where to build more resilience seems to indicate an appetite to open up new routes elsewhere. This panel looks at why competition could prove beneficial for the Middle East subsea space.
Our subsea panel ponders these issues:
- The increasingly influential role OTTs and content providers are playing in the Middle East
- Egypt’s important influence in the MEA subsea space
- Regulatory issues such as gaining approval for laying down subsea cables in newer markets
- What does this all mean for the subsea landscape in the Middle East?
