Three Dresses by Wanda Gibson

Three Dresses is a large-scale theatre work for family audiences, adapted by Chenoa Deemal from the award-winning book by Nukgal Wurra artist and author Wanda Gibson. Led by JUTE Theatre Company in association with QPAC and QTC, and created with in consultation with Wanda, and the Hope Vale community, it combines live performance, Guugu Yimithirr and English, music, dance, puppetry and projection. Told through a child’s perspective, it celebrates family, Country, resilience and joy while engaging audiences with Hope Vale’s history and the legacy of the Stolen Generations. Following its confirmed 2027 Queensland season, Three Dresses will be tour-ready from the second half of 2027. The touring company comprises four actors, two puppeteers and one live musician. Designed for large audiences, the production includes an accessible, sensory-rich foyer activation for children.
