RISE | REST

A celebration of community grounded in the rhythms of Country. RISE | REST is a landmark two-part performance cycle by Australian Dance Theatre (ADT), framing a meaningful arc of time - a single day, a week, a season, or a festival. With a touring party of 10 (7 performers and 3 staff) RISE | REST is offered as two performances presented alongside traditional Protocols (led by local First Nations leaders) and a shared meal. Minimal production and operational support required, the performance is at no cost to the audience granting access and development for new audiences. RISE | REST is not simply a performance — it is a cultural meeting point, an act of respect for Country, and an invitation to imagine more connected futures. The work aligns strongly with growing audience demand for immersive experiences, meaningful cultural participation, and events that foster community connection.
