ENDLING

ENDLING

Arts Market

Information

ENDLING is a futuristic work that puts the last human-a specimen in an enclosure-on display. Performed within a monumental, 6-metre apparatus which can be viewed from all sides, ENDLING is a unique fusion of popular artforms, seamlessly integrating a solo aerial performance and eye-catching 360-degree video art, with lighting, sound and music. Spectators observing the dance between projected digital art and live performance frequently question which elements of the performance are "real". ENDLING is moving, thought-provoking, and, at times, unsettling. For audiences, it invites reflection on our relationship with the world and our collective legacy, asking: can we truly change our fate, or will we be the architects of our own extinction? Adaptable to various performance models (indoor / outdoor, with set show times or performed in a continuous sequence) the presentation may also shift in tone in new contexts: feeling like a natural history museum experience, or having the flavour of a sideshow. The Legs Team are interested in collaborative conversations about how the work might be newly situated in future presentations.
