In this infinite cosmos our world is a small but beautiful fragment, we, homo sapiens, are said to represent a mere 14 seconds of its condensed cosmic existence. Fourteen seconds; the average time it takes to decide if we like how we look. Longer than the average hug or firing a gun. But more than enough to tell someone they are loved...
The Next 14 Seconds draws from dance, theatre, visual and sound design to explore a rich tapestry inspired by human evolution. Be the first to witness this world premiere production choreographed by the award-winning Nerida Matthaei (Love Stories, Angel Monster) that demands we look at where we've been and where we're heading - what will you change in your next 14 seconds?

Phluxus2 Dance Collective is an award-winning Brisbane based dance theatre company founded in 2006 and led by choreographer Nerida Matthaei. Today, the collective of over 140 artists has a strong vision that champions innovation through experimentation, seeking the unknown and advocating for rigorous choreographic practice. Phluxus2 proudly creates cutting-edge dance work for the stage, events, ceremonies and studios, whilst also delivering exceptional education, community and sector engagement initiatives.
Nerida has over 20 years experience as a multi-award winning choreographer, movement director, artistic director, performer and intimacy coordinator for stage and screen globally. The underlying pulse of her work comes from an ingrained passion for contemporary choreographic practice as a beautifully planned anarchy of mind-body collaboration. With over 400 credits she is a much sought-after collaborator across artistic sectors internationally.
This project brings together an exceptional creative team - Lisa Fa'alafi, Arabella Walker, Ben Ely, Haami Te Kuru, Keith Clark, Dan Evans as well as a talented ensemble of five dancers.
