Barking Spider Creative creates extraordinary visual and performative stories across art forms. Their practice includes devising image and performative experiences that activate audiences as they interpret the stories of individuals, communities, place, history and science. Since 2006, Barking Spider Creative (BSC) has creatively and theatrically interpreted stories, sites, objects, and collections. They create extraordinary, immersive experiences through puppetry, percussion, installation, animation, sound, and live performance - collaborating with communities, galleries, museums, schools, festivals, and theatres. Barking Spider's mission is to interpret history and place, as well as community and individual narratives. They generate remarkable story-telling that is the outcome of a collaborative creative process between audiences and artists. Barking Spider Creative holds space for the stories of others to be heard and transform the way people experience the familiar and encounter the unfamiliar.

Endling was developed and presented as part of ArtPlay's 2024 New Ideas Lab, and premiered at ArtPlay in April 2025.

Produced by Playable Streets, these beautiful works are thematically complementary but offer distinct presenting opportunities, as each work can be presented as a stand-alone. They delight diverse family audiences. ColdVoice and Endling are the cornerstone of our long-term creative sustainability strategy. Together, the works tour with a minimum crew of performers/ producers and engage local artists, reducing our environmental footprint as we delight audiences near and far. As conversations around climate change grow more urgent, there is a pressing need for works that engage the public-especially children and families-in accessible, empowering ways. they invite action, imagination, and connection. Playable Streets and Barking Spider Creative are excited by the potential of these works to engage audiences physically, emotionally, and socially. They create space for deep reflection and playful interaction, transforming eco-anxiety into curiosity and hope.
