Pinokes reimagines the classic Pinocchio tale through a fresh theatrical lens, embracing the story’s coming-of-age narrative, while layering themes of transformation, sustainability and moral ambiguity.
Our Pinokes aims to create an TYA experience that is funny and safe, but genuinely scary. We’re interested in drama without trauma, the kind of cathartic theatre that allows children to encounter big themes (death, change, grief, empathy) in ways that are both theatrical and meaningful.
The eco-dramaturgical adaptation is set in a futuristic, post-climate-collapse world, a thematic extension of our last hit piece, Last Landscape. We’re imagining a world where wood is scarce, where stories and myths must adapt in order to survive.
Through this lens, Pinocchio becomes not only a tale of individual transformation, but a metaphor for ecological resilience and intergenerational hope.
