A Place in the Sultan's Kitchen explores how Josh Hinton's grandparent's experiences shaped their lives and in turn made him who he is, charting a journey of discovery which is both uniquely personal, but universal too. He fills the theatre with music, memories, and exotic smells as he attempts to make his grandmother's chicken curry, live on stage.
It's a show for anyone who's searched for where they belong in this world, who's lived between different cultures, or who has loved and lost family.
Audiences members are invited to taste Josh's grandmother's Chicken Curry in the foyer after the show and meet Josh and his brother Dom.
It's a work that brings everyone together with food and storytelling to discuss what cultural identity means and how it affects our lives.
