The Forest is a large-scale contemporary dance work by Lucy Guerin Inc that explores the forest as both a living network and a potent symbol of the human subconscious. Featuring seven exceptional dancers, the work intertwines choreography, sound, design and dramaturgy to evoke the intricate systems, mythic resonance, beauty and unease of our entanglement with these living and natural environments.
A lush electronic score by Matthias Schack-Arnott and an ecologically conscious set by Eugyeene Teh create an immersive sensory world. Designed for medium to large theatres, The Forest speaks to audiences drawn to bold, conceptually rich performance and offers presenters a visually striking, tour-ready work that connects deeply to contemporary environmental themes.

Lucy Guerin Inc (LGI) is an Australian contemporary dance company established in 2002 and has been based at its venue WXYZ Studios in North Melbourne since 2018.
Renowned for the skill and originality of its performers, LGI is dedicated to challenging and extending the art of contemporary dance - firstly through the creation of new dance works which tour nationally and internationally, and secondly by supporting the work of independent artists through its wide-ranging studio programs.
New productions are generated via an experimental approach to the creative process, and may involve voice, video, sound, text and design as well as Guerin’s lucid physical structures.
