MODERN GOD is a high powered satirical dance theatre show that follows 6 social media influencers through text, dance, 3 cell phones and 1 very skilled AV operator. It is humorous, with a thought provoking dark twist.
Each character relentlessly creates content live for their online platform, whether it's an ad for the latest beauty product, fielding online trolls, getting cancelled or sharing wellness tips. The influencers experience the consequences of rampant consumerism, fame and hubris.
AV content is created live and streamed from their cell phones in real time on stage. The audience experiences the onslaught of digital content and breathtaking dance. Imagine doom scrolling but it's live and onstage.
Director and Choreographer Jeremy Beck has masterfully woven impressive virtuosic dance throughout the show with elements of street dance and contemporary dance.
