ILBIJERRI is Australia’s longest-running First Peoples theatre company. Named after a Woiwurrung word meaning ‘coming together for ceremony’, the company was born from Community and remains grounded in First Peoples storytelling. ILBIJERRI has presented locally and internationally, garnering multiple awards. ILBIJERRI creates and tours provocative works that highlight First Peoples experiences with empathy and honesty, bringing First Peoples voices to the foreground and enlightening audiences. ILBIJERRI works to reclaim First Peoples ways of working within the Australian arts sector, through programs and projects grounded in deep listening with, and for Community and Country.
