Samara Hersch | Touring Works and Works in Development: An intergenerational dialogue.

Samara Hersch is an artist and theatre director working between Europe and Australia. Her practice investigates the encounter between contemporary performance and community engagement, exploring intimacy as a political act. She regularly engages young people as collaborators to explore the performance of alternate histories and perspectives. These projects subvert the notion of adults as experts, foregrounding the voices of young people in the retelling of national stories and identities. Between 2016-2024, Samara's works were presented in 36 seasons across the globe. Her works 'Body of Knowledge' and 'We All Know What's Happening' have won multiple awards in Australia and internationally.
