Project Pitch
Cesta Fresca is an initiative of Agro Omunga designed to create a sustainable system for the production, logistics, and commercialization of fresh horticultural products along the Lobito Corridor in Angola.
Based in Benguela Province, the project connects small and medium local farmers to urban and regional markets, reducing post-harvest losses while ensuring access to fresh and quality food for communities.
The project operates through an integrated model combining agricultural production, packing centres, and refrigerated distribution. It leverages the logistics infrastructure of the Lobito Corridor to supply markets such as Benguela, Huambo, and Luanda, with future export potential through the Port of Lobito.
The initiative also includes a digital subscription platform for customized food baskets (B2C) and regular supply contracts with schools, hospitals, restaurants, and hospitality networks (B2B). The project promotes food security, traceability, and economic inclusion.
Through Cesta Fresca, Agro Omunga aims to strengthen family farming, create local employment, and position Angola as a regional hub for fresh and sustainable agricultural production.
