Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) provides our Navy with high quality, on-time maintenance, modernization, recycling and support that helps assure America's dominance at sea. PSNS & IMF has permanent sites in Bremerton, Bangor, and Everett, Washington; in San Diego, California; and at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan. The shipyard in Bremerton is the Pacific Northwest's largest Naval shore facility and one of Washington state's largest industrial installations. The Trident Refit Facility is the largest command at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor, near Silverdale, Washington.
Here at PSNS & IMF in the District Craft division we work on vessels of various types to include Utility Floats (UF), Utility Float Deep Draft (UFDD), Yard Craft (YC), Solid Waste Offload Barge (SWOB), Fuel barges (YON), Live Aboard barges (APL, YRB, YRBM), Drydock Caissons, Floating Cranes (YD), Special Purpose barges (IX), Dive Boats, Tub Boats (YT, YTB), Range Craft (TWR, YTT), Logistics Escape Trunk Availability Kits, and RCD Barges. All the vessels have varying lengths, widths and drafts. Our packages can include a simple blast/ paint, metal repair, piping installs and replacements, lighting both interior and navigation, power distribution, to engine/ generator replacement. We are working to maintain vessels both those recently added to our fleet (within the last 10 years) to vessels that were build during WWII. In this aspect some vessels need to modernize their propulsion and navigation systems or just add Tank level Indicators and flood alarms. Each Statement of Work (SOW) Is designed to meet the repair and modernization needs of the vessel to suit the needs of our customers.
