Above The Void is a Montreal-based boutique AI cinema studio founded by filmmaker and technologist Luc Leclerc. The studio develops original AI-generated films, interactive narratives, and generative screen works at the intersection of cinematic craft and emerging machine intelligence.
Above The Void holds Venice Biennale 2024 finalist recognition for "William, or The Fragile Harmony of Latent Spaces" and multiple film festival selections and awards.
The studio is the developer of DreamReel, a proprietary AI cinematic production platform built around a structured Act/Scene/Beat/Shot hierarchy and multi-agent AI orchestration. DreamReel is the internal instrument through which Above The Void produces its work and collaborates with partner organizations.
Above The Void works with filmmakers, cultural institutions, publicly funded organizations, and creative industry partners who approach AI not as automation, but as an expanded filmmaking language.
