Why not put a set of sensors on one or two lightweight supports that can be carried by a visually impaired person to help them detect obstacles, avoid them, and make it easier to navigate the streets? This is how SII's project idea was born: an “all-in-one” system, ready to use and deployable on a smartphone, to detect obstacles encountered by a visually impaired person in real time and alert them in an intelligible way, without overwhelming them with information.
The total value of the project is $718,404, with Prompt contributing $350,000.
