Biophotonics and AI to the Rescue - Developing a Risk Stratification Tool for COVID-19 Using the iLoF Platform

The current Covid-19 pandemic highlighted that, globally, healthcare systems are not prepared with adequate tools to predict and manage infectious outbreaks. Patients react very
differently to infections; some get very seriously ill, while others experience
only mild symptoms. The failure to effectively differentiate between these
group poses significant barriers for hospitals and physicians, while they
struggle to manage critical but very limited resources. In this talk, we
demonstrate the clinical utility of the iLoF technology to forecast COVID-19
disease severity using patient serum samples at the point of diagnosis. Using
this platform, we aim to implement a rapid and low-cost tool, which is capable
of screening COVID-19 patients and predicting the evolution of their symptoms,
ensuring accurate and personalized clinical management.
