Crop Plot Tour: BASF and Gowan
Information
Explore the uses, modes of action and application timing of Avadex, Fortress and Edge with Brad Ewankiw, Gowan Canada marketing manager. Ewankiw demonstrates there are products for all kinds of tillage situations. Although popular in the 1970s and 1980s, next-generation farmers may not be aware of Avadex’s uses. Avadex is a Group 8 herbicide used as a pre-emergent soil residual application for wild oat control—before they emerge. The product comes in two formulations—granular and liquid—and can be used in wheat, barley, durum, canola, peas, flax and other crops. During this presentation, Ewankiw gets into the finer details of which formulation to use for different tillage situations, and when and how to apply it. Ewankiw also covers the uses and best fits for products Fortress and Edge, both pre-emergent soil residual herbicides.
