Information
Learn more about the pests now being monitored by the Prairie Pest Monitoring Network (PPMN), a collaborative network of entomologists in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and the BC Peace River Region, working together to monitor insect pest populations. Using data collected annually, the PPMN produces risk and forecast maps to raise awareness of insect pest populations that might impact crop yield and provide weekly updates to help keep farmers and agronomists informed during the growing season. This information can be used to properly time in-crop scouting for insect pests. Dr. Meghan Vankosky, the PPMN co-Chair, will describethe PPMN and provide an update on the insect pests the Network monitors on an annual basis.
