Presentation Goal: The goal of this presentation is to share the development, implementation, and outcomes of an Advanced Practice Provider (APP)–led pelvic health center designed to address gaps in access, continuity, and quality of care for patients with pelvic floor disorders. The session aims to illustrate how APP-led innovation can improve patient satisfaction, enhance interdisciplinary collaboration, and optimize utilization of specialty resources. Attendees will gain practical insights and strategies for creating or expanding similar APP-led models within urology and women’s health practices.

Presentation Description: Pelvic floor disorders are common, complex, and often underdiagnosed. Many patients experience long wait times, fragmented referrals, and limited access to comprehensive care. Recognizing this gap, our institution established an APP-led pelvic health center to serve patients with overactive bladder, urinary and fecal incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, chronic pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, and perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms.

In this innovative model, Urology and Urogynecology APPs lead the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients using evidence-based, biopsychosocial, and multidisciplinary approaches. The clinic operates in collaboration with urologists, gynecologists, colorectal surgeons, infectious disease specialists, pelvic floor physical therapists, and behavioral health providers to ensure a seamless continuum of care.

Since implementation, the center has achieved outstanding results: patient satisfaction consistently exceeds that of other specialty clinics within the institution, and APPs report higher levels of professional fulfillment, autonomy, and work-life balance. Patients describe feeling heard, supported, and empowered to participate in their care. This presentation will review the clinic’s structure, key implementation strategies, and measurable impacts on both patient and provider outcomes, highlighting how APP-led innovation can advance urologic care and redefine the role of APPs in specialty practice.
