Information

The purpose of this program is to educate the intermediate urologic PA/APN, allied health professional and nurse in providing the best contemporary care to urologic patients.

Target Audience: Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Practice Nurses, Registered Nurses, Nurse Navigators, and other allied healthcare professionals at the Intermediate Urologic Practice level.

After participating in this CME Activity, Participants will be able to:
1. Develop methods to promote procedural skills for APPs.
2. Address the role and responsibilities of APPs as first-call clinicians on the Urology Consult Service.
3. Discuss current state of Urologic APP procedures and procedure training.
4. Employ key elements of pre-vasectomy counseling, post-vasectomy follow-up and techniques of vasectomy that are most effective.
5. Evaluate and differentiate hydrocele, varicocele, and common causes of testicular pain, and apply evidence-based diagnostic and management strategies to guide appropriate clinical decision-making.
6. Utilize effective strategies that promote the transition of a urology patient from pediatric to adult-focused care.
7. Apply AUA/CUA/SUFU guideline and strategies to evaluate and manage recurrent urinary tract infections in women by recognizing the role of genitourinary syndrome of menopause and incorporating GSM-focused, non-antibiotic prevention across patient populations.


Accreditation:
The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation:
The American Urological Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Other Learners:
The AUA is not accredited to offer credit to participants who are not MDs or DOs. However, the AUA will issue documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
