Course Description: This course will review the 2019 AUA Guidelines and the 2022 and 2025 updates on recurrent urinary tract infections in women. The Guidelines encompass recurrent UTI diagnosis, treatment, antibiotic and other methods of prophylaxis. There is a focus on antibiotic stewardship and best practices to avoid collateral damage from antibiotics. The evidence supporting the Guidelines will be presented, as well as treatment algorithms which includes the most current and safe antibiotic regimens. The second part of the course will focus on case presentations and management of a wide variety of challenging scenarios. The multidisciplinary faculty panel includes an infectious disease physician with experience with recurrent and complicated UTIs. The faculty will interact with the course participants and discuss patient-centered care, evidence-based best practices, real-world scenarios, hot topics, and future directions.
