Heathrow Airport

Heathrow is Europe’s busiest airport, and the UK’s largest port by value. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, Heathrow handled over 475,000 flights with more than 1.6 million tonnes of cargo (worth over £140bn) and 80 million passengers moving through the airport annually. 

The airport is home to more than 80 airlines, connecting passengers to more than 200 destinations around the world. As the UK’s only Hub airport, over half our annual passengers travel to long-haul destinations not served by any other UK airport. This demonstrates the unique role Heathrow plays for the UK in providing the connections with markets around the world on which the country’s economy relies.
