William is an international development professional with over 18 years of experience across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. He joined Mercy Corps in 2009 and has since held key roles in Europe, Timor-Leste, and Ethiopia. William is currently the Country Director for Mercy Corps Kenya, based in Nairobi. Prior to that, he served as Chief of Party for the Feed the Future-funded "Resilience in Pastoral Areas—North" (RIPA-North) program in Ethiopia. An expert in systemic development approaches, William has extensive experience leading market systems development (MSD) and resilience programs. He specializes in conflict sensitivity, governance, and peacebuilding, with a focus on arid and semi-arid regions, strengthening livestock systems, promoting sustainable food, climate services, and women's empowerment.
