Hannes spent his early career drinking up the ‘finance will save the world’ kool aid, and his more recent roles sobering up. Today he likes to learn about how development finance can be better embedded in a wider approach on economic development. He is a Senior Private Sector Development Adviser at FCDO, where he has worked on blended finance, supply chains, SME development and skills. He has also worked at the European Commission and GIZ, and as a consultant for BMZ, UN and IDB.
