Anouk Verheijen is a seasoned private sector development expert, with close to 20 years of experience in program management, training & mentoring, stakeholder engagement, M&E, E&S and business development. By conducting consultancy assignments for various international clients (including EU, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, IFC, FMO, AFD, Shell, USAID, AfDB) and fulfilling key expert roles in four multi-year development programs, she has acquired specific expertise in SME development and financial inclusion. In these programs she has worked with various ecosystem players, including SMEs, banks, MFIs, MDBs, accelerators, multi-national companies, industry associations and government agencies, across 15 geographies in Sub-Saharan Africa. Anouk holds specific sector expertise in the small-scale renewable energy and energy efficiency sector. As Senior Programmatic Technical Assistance Officer at FMO, Anouk currently provides oversight to a EUR 40 million portfolio of Technical Assistance programs which support investments in financial inclusion, food system transformation and climate adaptation.
