Amaal Bani Awwad is the Project Manager of the ILO’s project “Towards More and Better Employment through Enhanced Support to Private Sectors – with a Focus on Green Business” in Iraq, funded by Italy through AICS. With over two decades of experience in project management, social dialogue, and employment services across Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon, she has led the development of Iraq’s first National MSME Policy, the Business Registration Guide, and the National Green Business Plan. She has advanced green enterprise through the Green Business Camp, trained national trainers on various ILO programmes and tools, and supported the localization of the “Making Micro and Green Finance Work in Iraq” toolkit. She has also championed decent work for refugees and host communities, promoting employment opportunities, labour market integration, and inclusive enterprise development in crisis-affected contexts.
