Jana is an international development professional with over 14 years of experience in SME competitiveness, investment policy, carbon markets, and inclusive industrial development. She has worked at the World Bank Group and in the private sector and has collaborated closely with development partners on strategies to strengthen business environments and support green and just transitions. At DCED, Jana led policy research on the SME agenda in the context of green and just transitions, focusing on the role of business environment policies and building on her recent study of emerging environmental regulations and their implications for developing economies. She has worked extensively with ministries, SMEs, startups, and development partners across South-Eastern Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
