Presentation
Information
Many seasoned geoscientists only have a rudimentary understanding of hydrocarbon saturation within a reservoir. This presentation will discuss the basics of capillary pressure and permeability in relation to mercury injection capillary pressure curves to demonstrate how hydrocarbons are distributed within a reservoir. A greater understanding of permeability and capillary pressure within a reservoir is essential to optimize development locations and to lower risk with exploration prospects. The presentation will use examples from the Williston Basin to show some basic concepts for understanding hydrocarbon saturation within a reservoir.
