Ishami Dance Company is a South Asian Contemporary dance company. Ishami will be presenting excerpts from its touring production "Pehchaan." "Pehchaan" explores the complexities of self-identity from a South Asian American perspective, imagining bold, inclusive futures that are both culturally-grounded and expansive. The first excerpt, "Mohabbat," tells a queer love story through movement, visualizing a happy ending for a community that rarely gets to have one. The second excerpt, "Tehzeeb," draws inspiration from popular culture and club music to create a rebellious new dance floor, where South Asian culture and queer expression coexist.

Ishami has presented "Pehchaan" in Oakland, New York City, and Chicago. Pehchaan features a cast of six to nine dancers and Grammy-nominated vocalist and composer Zahara.

The typical artist fee for Ishami ranges from $7500-$18000 based on the scope of the engagement.
