Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Company is a professional, tour-ready, flamenco ensemble based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Founded in 1999 by Artistic Director Joaquín Encinias, the company creates, commissions, and performs original works that honor tradition while advancing the art of flamenco through contemporary collaboration.
The Dance Company in Residence at the University of New Mexico, Yjastros connects audiences through performance, education, and community engagement, proudly representing the unique legacy of flamenco in the American Southwest.
Yjastros is a project of The National Institute of Flamenco.
