Information
This course will cover the FAA’s organization, authority, and process for promulgating rules, then walk attendees through the general requirements in 14 CFR, explaining how its components link together in a “regulatory chain” that aviation businesses must understand. Topics specific to maintenance will include Part 43 maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding, and alteration; Part 65, Subpart D mechanics (certification); Part 65, Subpart E technicians (certification); and Part 145 repair stations.
Learning Objectives
By the conclusion of the course, attendees will understand:
• Civil aviation safety regulatory organization and structure
• Minimum standards that directly and indirectly impact day-to-day work
• Differences between regulatory requirements and requirements created by contractual and other legal obligations.
