Information

The National Memorial Arboretum is the Nation’s year-round place to remember, a space where everyone can celebrate lives lived and remember lives lost.

A beautiful and inspiring place, the 150-acres of the Arboretum form a living landscape and home to more than 400 memorials waiting to be discovered. It the perfect venue for developing an understanding of Remembrance, and is a space that students and teachers of all ages can enjoy.

Using our living landscape as inspiration for a series of workshops and activities, we support various curriculum-based objectives through our fully inclusive learning programme. Our Explorer Days have been designed to encourage students to form their own opinions and arguments around key themes discussed, whilst shorter activities, such as the Act of Remembrance and Guided Tours, will allow children to explore the who, why and how we can remember.

Throughout the year, our learning team also deliver a programme of free activity days that engage students with important stories linked to national days of significance such as Holocaust Memorial Day, World Book Day, International Women’s Day and more.

Our facilities include:

• Specialist onsite learning team

• Two purpose built classrooms

• Two children’s playgrounds/activity areas

• Free coach parking

• Outdoor discovery shelters

• Free exhibitions
