Engineering Equitable Outcomes with Synthetic Biology

Synthetic biology is a design-centric field that seeks to make the world a better place. But how do we design a world that's a better place for all? How can we build—formally and informally—frameworks for thinking about the ethics of future biotechnology, and understand the business case for doing so? This session will explore how we integrate equitable outcomes into our research and development cycles, and share some examples of "conscious R&D" at work.
