Did you ever walk into a room and got excited? Or stressed? Have you ever played a video game that made you traverse architectural environments that made you feel scared for your life? Is there a direct connection between the shape of an architectural space and your emotions? To get an answer to this question you are invited to our talk about virtual environments and your psyche.

Arch Avishag Shemesh, PhD, research explores the human’s  emotional reaction to his environment, with a focus on architectural space by using physiological sensing and real-time capabilities. Her conclusions benefit not only architects and interior designers but also anyone who creates environment design such as game designers, virtual production set designers and many more. The introduction of real time engines into fields such as fashion, media creation and AEC, enhance by VR and AR technologies has furthered the need for a deeper understanding of what makes us love, hate or fear a space we inhabit – whether virtual or corporeal. In our talk, we will explain and demonstrate how Avishag’s research conclusions may give you insights that can help you connect your audience to your designs in ways that will keep them engaged and emotionally invested.
